Thank you for choosing a Creative Hive candle, every candle is completely handmade right here in New Zealand.
Our philosophy is about creating beeswax candles that are natural which is why they are 100% pure beeswax. Lightly filtered, they are a thing of natural beauty, burning them is often more an art than a science.
With no fillers or additives, the non-toxic properties make it perfect for a clean burning & bright fuel source. Unlike most manufactured paraffin candles, beeswax is hypoallergenic, great for anyone with allergies or other sensitivities & those of us who want a clean burning candle in our home.
Our beeswax comes direct from beekeepers in the Bay of Plenty where the honeybees fly amongst a wide variety of native bush & wildflowers, including Manuka & Clover.
The resulting wax is a beautiful shade of yellow that has an aromatic honey fragrance. We simply reshape the bees’ creation; the colour & scent is all made by the hardworking bees. We do not add anything to our beeswax & only filter out the large particles that could interfere with the flame.
We use a properly sized lead-free cotton wick in every candle we make that provides a bright flame & optimum wax pool to prevent tunneling.

Create a beautiful ambience in your home with the warm amber glow from our 100% pure New Zealand Beeswax Candles handmade with aroha in the beautiful Bay Of Plenty.
Beeswax is one of nature's treasures. Prized since antiquity, fragrant beeswax candles burn longer and cleaner than other wax candles. In fact, pure beeswax has the highest melting point of any known wax. Their slow flame gives off more light and heat than other waxes and are virtually drip free if kept away from drafts. Beeswax candles will fragrance the air with a subtle natural honey essence.

About Angie...
I fell in love with all things bee way before I moved to New Zealand back in 2010 with my family, never imagining that one day I would be a hobbyist beekeeper & using my wax to make fabulous candles that have made a huge difference in all our lives.
Over the years that love continued to grow as has the fascination with bees & coupled with my thirst for learning I turned my hand to candle making becoming a beeswax chandler.
With the tuis & kererū singing in the avocado trees of our small orchard I’ve found the process of making candles to be a very calming & meditative process. The mindfulness of producing something so unique that burns cleanly & brightly just brings me enormous joy.
I’m grateful for every moment that I get to spend working with ever expanding my wax pot.
